 Maricopa Community Colleges Foundation's emergency assistance fund is NOW OPEN and accepting applications.  The application can be found online.  

16th Annual ¡Lánzate! / Take Off! Travel Program

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities and Southwest Airlines have announced applications are open for the 16th Annual ¡Lánzate! / Take Off! Travel Program. Online applications will be accepted from eligible college students through April 30, 2020, for the opportunity to receive travel awards.
HACU and Southwest Airlines will award roundtrip e-pass(es) to undergraduate and graduate students across the country who travel at least 200 miles from home to pursue a higher education and meet the eligibility criteria. Eligible students receive e-pass(es) for use to travel between home and college or university.

Maricopa Community Colleges Foundation offers a variety of scholarships.  Students create one profile and can apply for hundreds of scholarships.  The scholarship application is now open for the Fall 2020 semester.  Student can apply here.

Deadline to apply is May 31, 2020.

*NEW* Spring 2020 Geckos In Action Civic Engagement Scholarship

The Community Engagement scholarship recognizes GateWay students who have gone above and beyond to actively engage in their campus and community. To be eligible, students must participate in at least 25 hours of service-based, volunteer activities on or off campus over the course of the semester. Additionally, students must have completed the FAFSA, be able to demonstrate financial need, and be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours. GWECHS students who are enrolled in college classes are also eligible to apply.

Examples of activities to count toward the Geckos Connect Scholarship may include:
  • ·         Assisting with on-campus events
  • ·         Volunteering at community agencies
  • ·         Participating in campus-sponsored events off campus
  • ·         Service Learning projects
  • ·         Honors projects


Students must track their hours on a time sheet. Each event must be logged with a signature from an agency representative verifying the student’s participation.


Students who have completed these requirements will provide a short essay describing their favorite activity. Essays should include a brief description of the activity and the student’s role, how participating affected the student’s connection to their campus, community and peers, and why it matters. The best essays will demonstrate a clear connection between the activity and the student’s degree path, career goals, or personal passions. Winners will be chosen by a committee of college employees.

GateWay Community College is pleased to announce the Spring Into Success Scholarship.


Students must meet the following eligibility requirements:
  • Have a completed 2019-2020 FAFSA on file and have financial need.
  • Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at GateWay in the Spring 2020 semester
  • Must be a Citizen, or Eligible Non-Citizen
  • Has not received the scholarship yet for Spring 2020

Students must apply online.

GateWay Community College is pleased to announce the Water Resource Technology City of Surprise at GateWay Scholarship.

Students must meet the following eligibility requirements:
  • Have a completed 2019-2020 FAFSA on file
  • Must be a Water Resource Technology Student at the Surprise Campus
  • Maintain a GWCC cumulative GPA of 2.0
  • Must be a resident of Surprise, city staffer, or Luke AFB Personnel

Calling all skilled workers!
Plumbers, electricians, welders, and all skilled workers who make civilized life possible:
The time has come to announce another modest pile of money available through our Work Ethic Scholarship Program for people willing to learn a trade that’s in demand.

The 2019 Work Ethic Scholarship Program officially opens on Monday, January 28, 2019, and the deadline to submit applications is Thursday, March 28, 2019.

We’re looking for the next generation of aspiring workers who will work smart and hard.  This program doesn’t focus on test scores, grades, or grammar.  It’s about the people who share our values and understand the importance of work ethic, personal responsibility, delayed gratification, and a positive attitude.

*NEW* 2018 AGC Workforce Development Scholarship

The 2018 AGC Workforce Development Scholarship is open to anyone planning to
attend, or currently attending, a technical school or approved craft training program.
High school seniors, military service members and post-secondary students are all encouraged to apply. 

Applications will be accepted from now until June 1, 2018Scholarships are valued at $1,000 a year for each recipient and can be renewed annually. Recipients will be notified in July and awards will be dispersed soon after. View scholarship criteria here.

Summer Scholarships

Summer Scholarships will be posted starting April 20, 2018.  Please make sure you are registered for your summer classes prior to applying and that you have met with an Adviser as an Academic Plan will be required on all scholarships.

You may apply for more than one scholarship, however it is competitive and you may only receive one scholarship.
