GateWay Community College is pleased to announce the Water Resource Technology City of Surprise at GateWay Scholarship.

Students must meet the following eligibility requirements:
  • Have a completed 2019-2020 FAFSA on file
  • Must be a Water Resource Technology Student at the Surprise Campus
  • Maintain a GWCC cumulative GPA of 2.0
  • Must be a resident of Surprise, city staffer, or Luke AFB Personnel

Calling all skilled workers!
Plumbers, electricians, welders, and all skilled workers who make civilized life possible:
The time has come to announce another modest pile of money available through our Work Ethic Scholarship Program for people willing to learn a trade that’s in demand.

The 2019 Work Ethic Scholarship Program officially opens on Monday, January 28, 2019, and the deadline to submit applications is Thursday, March 28, 2019.

We’re looking for the next generation of aspiring workers who will work smart and hard.  This program doesn’t focus on test scores, grades, or grammar.  It’s about the people who share our values and understand the importance of work ethic, personal responsibility, delayed gratification, and a positive attitude.

*NEW* 2018 AGC Workforce Development Scholarship

The 2018 AGC Workforce Development Scholarship is open to anyone planning to
attend, or currently attending, a technical school or approved craft training program.
High school seniors, military service members and post-secondary students are all encouraged to apply. 

Applications will be accepted from now until June 1, 2018Scholarships are valued at $1,000 a year for each recipient and can be renewed annually. Recipients will be notified in July and awards will be dispersed soon after. View scholarship criteria here.

Summer Scholarships will be posted starting April 20, 2018.  Please make sure you are registered for your summer classes prior to applying and that you have met with an Adviser as an Academic Plan will be required on all scholarships.

You may apply for more than one scholarship, however it is competitive and you may only receive one scholarship.

The HACU Scholarship Program 2018-2019 application is OPEN

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities is pleased to be the administrator of scholarship opportunities provided by our partners to assist in defraying some of your college expenditures. Please review each scholarship’s criteria carefully to see if you qualify, since each partner may have differing requirements. 
In addition, all scholarship applicants MUST meet the following criteria:
  1. Demonstrate financial need if required by scholarship sponsor (typically determined by FAFSA).
  2. Meet specific criteria for the scholarships to which they are applying.
  3. Must attend a HACU-member college or university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico at the time applications are completed and scholarship awards are made. Students transferring schools, the school must also be a HACU member to be eligible to apply.  For the most up-to-date listing of HACU-member institutions, please click here.

Kaity’s Way is an Arizona nonprofit that advocates for healthy teen relationships by providing education, skills and tools to youth and their allies. As part of our commitment to the communities we serve, we are offering a $1,000 scholarship to high school seniors and first-year community college students in Maricopa County.

Academic Works Helpful Tips

If you have not registered for Academic Works yet, you will need to before you can apply for the Student Success Scholarship or the Biology Scholarship.

You can register by clicking on Academic Works.  After you register and log-in you will be asked to answer several questions which is the General Application.  Once you complete the General Application you should click on Opportunities and then Ours, which will show you all scholarship applications that are open for GateWay.  You will then need to click on the right hand side that says apply and complete any other questions for that scholarship.

Once you have completed your scholarship applications, you can click on Applications and it will show under Active which scholarships that you have applied for.

*NEW 12-13* GWCC Student Nurses Association (SNA) Scholarship

GateWay Community College Student Nurses Association (SNA) Scholarship


The Gateway Community College (GWCC) Student Nurses Association (SNA) Scholarship is to provide four qualified SNA member candidates with $250.00 each to assist with paying for books, tuition, or any other fees owed by the student to the school.

Eligibility Criteria:
  • The student must be an active SNA member, having participated in at least two SNA events over the semester and attended at least one member meeting. Events can be either SNA sponsored or events that reflect the mission vision and values of the GWCC SNA. These include events that promote professionalism, service learning, diversity, community service, and/or enhancing communication and mentorship.

  • The student must also be in good standing with the college, having at least an 84%* final grade at the end of the current block.

  • If awarded, the student must provide proof of US Citizenship or Eligible Non Citizen status as required by Arizona HB2008. For more information, please refer to the attached document.

Phoenix Chapter Association of Government Accountants (AGA) Scholarship

The Phoenix Chapter Association of Government Accountants (AGA) is pleased to announce the opportunity for eligible undergraduate/graduate students to apply for a college scholarship. There will be one (1) scholarship awarded for $1,000, which can be used for student educational expenses and a possible second place award for $500.00. The Scholarship recipient will also be awarded a one year Special Student Membership in the Phoenix Chapter AGA which will entitle him or her to attend chapter meetings and educational events, receive chapter and national publications, access job opportunities through AGA’s online Job Bank, enhance professional development, network with other professionals, and the many other benefits of becoming an AGA member.
